Welcome to our Messy Church page

Maybe you're wondering what Messy Church is all about?

Please click here to find out more.....

Our next Messy Church is on Saturday 21st December, 10-11:30am

in St James Church, B90 2AX.

And no prizes for guessing what we'll be thinking about and celebrating!

At November Messy Church we thought about St Paul – who travelled to lots of places, telling lots of people about Jesus, and sharing God’s love for them. He had loads of adventures, so we did Splash Light painting; made megaphones, friendship chains, Roman helmets and flip-flop sandals (he did a lot of walking!); decorated heart biscuits, and crafted arrow crosses, signposts and postcards. And did Lego. And ate toast.

And then we had a joyful Celebration to wrap it all together at the end.

It was fab!

So get these two December dates on to your Family Calendar

Saturday 21st December 10am: Christmas Messy Church

Christmas Eve 4pm: Wise Men (and Women) @ the Crib.

Dress up; dress down; or come as you are - to our crazily joyful mix of Messy Church, Crib Service and Christmas chaos.

Hope to see you soon!

Get them on the family calendar, and we look forward to seeing you.

What is Messy Church

What on earth is Messy Church???

Most people think of 'church' as people sitting quietly in rows, saying quiet prayers and listening to someone talking for quite a long time.

And church services can be like that...

but they don't have to be.

People can come together to enjoy being with God in all sorts of ways.

The important things are that

we are together

we are listening to God

we are learning more about God

whoever we are, and whether or not we like sitting quietly in rows and all that.

Messy Church

gives familes of all ages, shapes and compositions the chance to

enjoy crafts and other activities

take part in some simple worship

and to have breakfast together.

It's great for those of us who think with our hands

and don't much like sitting still.

It meets once a month on Saturday mornings*

10 - 11:30am

in St James' Church

(but not in the pews!)

Church Road

Shirley

B90 2AX

*the third Saturday of each month.

Don't worry - we'll remind you when it is via email if you wish.

And all our updates are posted on Facebook, Twitter and this page.

Messy Church
