Our Worship Services
For the full pattern of services across the Parish please see here.
If you're not able to join us in person for worship, you may like to watch our livestreams from St James'.

Each week our 10:30am Sunday morning worship is livestreamed on the Live tab of our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@shirleyparish5736.

Our Reflective Worship service at 6pm on the first Sunday in each month is also livestreamed.

Broadcasts start around 5 minutes before the service begins, and you can access a recording after the service finishes.

Future Ministry in Shirley Parish
As you probably know, Rev Paul Day is retiring on 31st August.
We'd love to hear your ideas on the next steps for Shirley Parish, and what you think we should look for in our next Vicar.
Please read this invitation, then join us on
Saturday 23rd August, 10am - 12:30pm in St James' Church
to share your thoughts.

We now have a dedicated page on this website to help us all understand the process of appointing our new Vicar, and to keep us up to date on what's happening.
Please click here to find it.

News and Updates
We're pleased to be supporting Shirley Baptist Church as they work with The Bike Project to collect bikes that you no longer need, get them made roadworthy and passed on to refugees and asylum seekers around Birmingham. We'll be hosting a pop-up collection point at Church House between 9am to 3pm on Saturday 9th August.

Safeguarding in Shirley Parish
Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). You can find more information on Parish Safeguarding, including contact details for our PSO here.

Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages here contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.

A prayer for the planet
God of justice and compassion,
we cry to you for the future of planet Earth.
We repent with tears
for our failure to manage its resources fairly
and for our short-sighted greed and selfishness.
Stir up in us and our leaders at this time,
a new determination to act
for the good of the poorest among us,
and for the blessing of all creation.
Martyn Payne

Be Still..... and pray
May the Love of Christ surround us
The Light of Christ lead us
The Peace of Christ fill us
The Power of Christ aid us
The Joy of Christ thrill us
The Presence of Christ
Be with us evermore.
Amen.
